Buying a Printer
This consumer reports on buying a printer. The report is about a year old, but the decision process might help you.
We purchased a Canon i860 printer over the weekend. We have a Brother HL-760 laser that's been a good performer for many years, but we've been wanting to do some color printing. Mainly color graphics, but also some photo printing. We narrowed it down to the HP Deskjet 5650 and the i860.

About the i860 When I get to use it is good. It constantly has problems with print head. Replaced once and now gone again. Do not use printer constantly. CANNON HAS ALL THESE LITTLE SECRETS NOT IN THEIR MANUAL THAT IS IN THE ON AND RESTART BUTTON ON YOUR PRINTER. When it is under warrantee you can call them and they will unwillingfully tell you how to fix it. After off warantee want you to PAY to find out how many clicks need to click and in what sequence!!!?? I like my Cannon Camera. I WOULD NEVER BY ANOTHER CANNON PRINTER. After only having it 2 years and spending half that time with problems and the print head is now on blink again I am going to go by a different brand printer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lynn Seaberg
