Kryptonite Lock Exchange
This consumer reports on the kryptonite lock recall:
On or around September 25, 2004, I registered my Kryptonite locks with their product recall program. (September 25 is when I first got email from them, anyway.) On November 14, I received email containing a “Trans. Id” number, and on November 20 they sent me a prepaid UPS shipping label. I packed up my two locks and shipped them the next day.

They have stopped the program I think. There's no real link to a recall program now. While a recall or exchange program with a car company is at least, under the table/under the breath--always available to you even if you didn't get it exchanged within the manufacturer's stated period--Kryptonite apparantly doesn't feel they are the GM/Toyota of the bicycle world and simply has to just replace the first 400,000.
I am able to toss my Kryptonite KryptoLok U-lock in the bin. This kind of lack of follow through shouldn't be rewarded by repeat business--so I am simply not going to buy another lock from these folks.

Can I still exchange my Kryptonite locks?
I have four, each a different model. Are all
of these models rendered insecure by a Bic pen?
