The guys at MobileWhack do an excellent job of covering the digital world. They focus on consumer electronics a little more heavily than we do, and they have a dedicated flock.

Garmin Quest GPS Receiver
This consumer reports on the Garmin Quest GPS recieverWhen it comes to GPS devices, you’ve had only two flavors to choose from: handhelds or in-vehicle systems–until now. Garmin’s latest GPS system, the Quest, lets you have your cake and eat it too. The $624 Quest is small enough to fit in your pocket, but it contains nearly all the features we’ve come to expect in the bigger and pricier vehicle-navigation products, including voice-guided driving directions and route-planning capabilities. Of course, there are trade-offs. The device doesn’t come with an expansion slot or a mini hard drive, so you have to load and reload maps as you go. Still, whether you’re driving or hoofing it, the Quest will help get you to your destination without getting lost.

Tivo-Proofing "Lost"
This consumer reports how advertisers are beating TiVoMatt hopes this kind of Tivo-proofing won’t become too common, but one thing I like about it: It forces marketers to think hard about what the content-makers are doing to engage with the content-consumers. If you want to join the conversation, you have spend some time listening! As Matt points out, “it must take tremendous planning to have every company with a commercial to film it featuring some tidbit from the show.”

The Neck Fan
That said, I did stumble across this little gem of a product, from O2-Cool: the iFan. Flavor Flav had his giant clocks; I've now got my giant iPod-looking fan. And while the design is a lawsuit waiting to happen, the strangest thing about it is it's very existence. Are there a great many people suffering the pangs of neck sweats? The bearded, perhaps, and the extremely obese... thoughts, anyone?

Inspecting A Used Car
These tips will help consumers find any obvious problems in a used car. Read the full report.
The #1 thing to look at when buying a used car is the headliner. Why, because you will see how this car was treated inside and be able to tell if it was a smokers vehicle or not. Also around the top of the door window where people throw their cigarettes out, and without saying the ashtray.

Buy Used!
This consumer reports on buying a used car and saving money.
One of the best car buying tips that I could give anyone is to check into certified used cars. When you buy a new car, it loses approx. 25% of its value when you drive it off the lot. Now, check the prices of certified used which are nearly half the price of new cars. I am familiar with the GM certified used car plan because this is what I sold.

Appliance Cooking
This consumer reports on how to use your household appliances to cook in unexpected ways.
In the middle of all the laughing caused by the story behind the "hair dryer duck" recipe, I remember that long time ago I read about an incredible post by The Skinny Chef, the recipe was to prepare "dishwasher poached salmon." Yep. So, after looking and digging into my favorites, I found it. This recipe is going to crack you up too.

Siddhu 2025
The upside and downside of a future consumer:
By the age of forty, I realized that I would desire to be saddled with a home with a two-car garage, a beautiful (and hence, vacuous*) wife, one or two snotty nosed little kids, a nice little SUV, a sports bike, and a credit card that would allow me to buy something more than second-hand underwear without overrunning the limit. Maybe a Play Station XVI that I wouldn't let my children touch for good measure.

Google Transit
This consumer reports that Google Transit works better for cars than for bicycles.
So Google released Google Transit that allows commuters to calculate traveling time and direction within the metro area via public transit, and that’s totally cool - but doesn’t apply to me. What’s really cool is Portland Metro made a Google Earth map for cyclists.
